Weekly Update - June 1 2009

Posted by: Lt K Bradley in Weekly Messages

First off I would like to thank the parents who came out to the bottle drive on Saturday. It was incredibly successful, and I'm sure we can only imagine how much money we raised. I'll be sure to let you know once the good folks down at REDI have finished counting them.

Dress this week is beret, black corps shirt, belt, combat pants, and combat boots. Anyone who was absent last week, please wear your green pants and parade boots, and you will get your combats issued on Thursday.

There is only two parade nights left until the Annual Cadet Review (!) and it is very important that everybody attend these last nights. Our support from Edmonton next year weighs heavily on our numbers and performance at the ACR. I understand that with the arrival of spring that sports events are starting up, but it is important that you remember your obligations to parade for the remainder of the year.

The RSM of the Regiment is going to be visiting us on Thursday, we need to make a strong showing.

The Redcliff Legion Decoration Day Memorial parade is on Sunday. Dress is your full dress uniform (beret, tunic, shirt, belt, pants, highly shone parade boots). The parade will take place at the Redcliff Cemetary. Please be there by 1400hrs (2pm).

Next week we will be doing corps photos. Dress will be beret, black corps shirt, belt, combat pants, and combat boots.

The Annual parade is on June 13th at 1500hrs.  All parents and families are invited to attend.  It will be held at Patterson Armoury 120 Cuyler Rd SE Medicine Hat. All guests should arrive and be seated for 1430hrs. (2:30pm). Dress is Formal Business Attire or for Military members 1A.

Of special note, ALL the cadets are REQUIRED to be at the armoury at 0830hrs that day with full dress uniform on a hanger.  There are no exceptions for this day!

We would so like if possible for each cadet to bring in a small tray of sweets for refreshments.  This can be made by the parents or bought, and could include cookies, squares, or tarts or anything like that. Please include a label with a brief description.  Thank you in advance for this.

This has been a great year for the unit and I am sure it will end on a high with this parade.  Looking forward to seeing all parents on June 13th.

Please send an email to Capt Gerbrandt with the number of guests/parents that will be attending the parade so we can get an idea for chairs.
